Anathema - the British rock group formed in Liverpool in 1990.
Group formation, early creativity
The group has been formed in 1990 by brothers of Kevanah in Liverpool, Great Britain. Big brother Deniel became the initiator. Then the group bore name Pagan Angel (in translation from English - «a pagan angel»). Its structure included brothers of Kevanah (Vincent and Deniel played guitars, Jemi - on a bass guitar), vocalist Darren White and drummer John Duglas. In November 1990 command writes down the first demo An Illiad Of Woes. For group it there was simply a training, they wrote down a demo only for themselves and acquaintances. During the same time the group does the first attempts of performances, playing «a warming up» det-commands Paradise Lost already known at that time and Bolt Thrower. Then the group name changes on Anathema.
In July, 1991 the second demo All Faith Is Lost registers. The demo was known any more only in a circle of friends and relatives, there were first reviews and estimations. Sound recording studio Peaceville Records has become interested in group, and in 1992 there is single They Die. The group faces for the first time problems: the structure leaves Jemi Kevanah, instead of it the close friend of brothers of Dunkan Patterson with whom they worked in small studio in Liverpool at demo record becomes the bass guitarist. Denni and Dunkan were authors of texts.
