The native land of Nile of Young - the Canadian city of Toronto where it was born on November, 12th, 1945 in a family of the sports journalist. When parents have divorced, Nile with mother has moved to Winnipeg. A pleasant variety in the boring school menu was introduced by employment by music. Possession of a guitar has allowed Nile in the senior classes of school to join musical life of a city. From school age Young played Nile domestic rock commands which acted in night institutions of its native Toronto. During one of such parties he has got acquainted with guitarist Stephen Stills and the author of songs Joni Mitchell two uncommon musicians whom it should face time and again during the career. Young played also blues , however the original glory was brought to it by participation in the Californian folk rock group Buffalo Springfield.
Relations between participants Buffalo Springfield were strained enough so in 1968 Young has decided to start to register solol. Itself being the remarkable guitarist, it has collected a brilliant command of the Californian musicians which up to today accompanies it at concerts under name Crazy Horse. Its first solo album, «Neil Young» (1968), hasn't made due impression, however already on the second disk «Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere» (1969) there were songs which have been recognized by classics of arising hard fate, «Cinnamon Girl» and «Down by the River».
