The London elektronno-dancing duet Groove Armada has been generated in the mid-nineties by DJs and multiinstrumentalists Volume of Findlay (Tom Findlay) and Andy Kato (Andy Cato). The collective has begun performances in own club named the same as also group - Groove Armada (in honor of the disco with the same name functioning in 70 in Newcastle). In Andy's one room played a house, in other Volume got funk. Then they have gathered in one room where have brought into the world the surprising fruit - progressive funks-houses, easy, found, very positive. Some critics even have considered their similar on Sly and The Family Stone. By 1997 some singles have been published, including «4 Tune Cookie» and «At the River», the debut album «Northern Star» left the next year. The album published in 1999 «Vertigo» has entered into the British twenty and has received the silver status in England. Now it is considered the outstanding sample of the British progressive house uniting electronic and live soundings, a chanson and a rap, a retro and ultrafashionable elements. Singles from an album among which it was especially allocated «I See You Baby», remixed Fat Boy Slim th were so successful also. Soon the sir Elton John who has offered Groove Armada a role of the "warming up" command has paid attention to group. In 2000 the album «Vertigo» has been published in the USA.
